Ugandans Mps are denying that they have not received the bribe of 103 millions which worthy billions of cash for public funds which is anew move by Museveni’s Government to silence the MPs and drop their fight against corruption, It is a habit of Museveni’s Government to give bribes to MPs whenever he wants to silence them from fighting corruption which has claimed billions of tax payers funds. Its now becoming common for President Museveni to miss use tax payers money to consolidate himself in power .
In 2005 he gave 5millions shillings to each member of parliament in order to remove the term limits which brought Museveni to cling on power. Of recent Museveni ‘s government has been caught in various scandals of stealing billions of shillings from Ugandan treasury and illegally approving billions of money to be paid to his business trusties which has exposed him as the most corrupt serving president in East African . According to the news published on 7/february/2012 and information obstained from secret sources MPs were given 103 millions each and has been criticized by the public in all corners of the country.
This has indicated how NRM systems is very corrupt and how it has destroyed all the government institutions including the police, this has brought the implications in all those working with Museveni that whoever joins the public service has to be grabbing something and justifying himself first instead of helping the nationals to share on the national bread. Now tax payers money is no longer national bread it has turned to be Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s bread which is shared by only his family, friends and those supporting him.
Corruption and misuse of public funds by the president and his ministers is part of abuses of leadership which has discredited Uganda’s leaders and institutions and has forced Ugandans to go on streets to ask Museveni and his ministers to resign immediately.
On several occasions Museveni has dodged the parliament that wanted transparency in signing oil agreements, instead he Museveni aligned with his ministers [Moses Ali to illegally sign the recent oil agreement which was not fully endorsed by parliament and the public, I believe that this the reason why MPs were paid millions of shillings as away of bribing them in order to silence them .
This action by the MPs is an insult to their constituents and Uganda. I am opposed to the Shs103 million expenditure for cars for each MP because it is a lot of money given the economic crisis that the country is going through and I suggest that we consult our parties first and our constituents on whether to take it or not,” she reportedly said.
These MPs should walk the talk about being pro-people. The opposition shouldn’t be part of the loot. This money should be returned and used to increase teachers’ salaries and also use that money to treat the Nodding children in northern Uganda.
